2 Day Skate Event in Bradley Stoke

bradley stoke skateparkYoung skaters of Bradley Stoke and surrounding areas will have a chance to exhibit their skills in a two day skate event on the 7th and 8th of June. The event – which is being organised by young people of Bradley Stoke – is funded by the South Gloucester Council’s Positive Activity Fund, and aims to promote the social and health benefits of skating.

A Comprehensive Event for All Ages

Saturday will see the arrival of a 5 foot half pipe on the main festival site at Jubilee Green, which will move down the existing skate park at the Leisure centre on Sunday, where the main competition will take place. The main competition is between 11am and 5pm on Sunday 8th of June, with registration taking place between 9.30am and 10.30am. You can find all information pertaining to the event on the Facebook page. So far though, there are three separate competitions lined up for this event – one for under 13’s, one for the 13-17 age group and finally, a BMX knockout jam and all in Skateboard and inline comp. With only a £2 entry fee, and a host of great prizes to be won (expect to see skate gear from Skate Hut and other top brands), the event should draw quite a crowd, from both Bradley Stoke and indeed, further afield as well.

Pros on Display

In addition to these events, young skaters and riders will also have the chance to see demonstrations from various UK pro skaters and riders (no names have been confirmed yet), who’ll be encouraging young participants to try new tricks and develop fresh skills on the day. If you haven’t got your own gear, equipment will be provided. There are no other requirements for entry; both girls and boys are encouraged to participate. Likewise, those attending are warmly invited to bring their families and enjoy what is set to be a great two days of British summertime.
