The UK’s Biggest Ever Skatepark Tour

As Jake Blauvelt (The Art of Flight) once said “it’s not the destination, it’s the adventure along the way” and never has that been so true as the Camp Rubicon promo tour we did last month. In 8 amazing days, we visited 44 indoor skateparks around the country, travelled 2251 miles, met newspapers and radio stations, shops and distributors, pro’s and am’s, and of course loads and loads of you!

As we travelled, we posted updates and photos on facebook. Here is our story…

Smashed it! Day 1 of undoubtedly the biggest UK skatepark tour ever… we hit up 5 skateparks… XC, Pioneer Skatepark, Legacy XS, Empire Skatepark, Area 25 skatepark… just 35 to go! 206 miles done. Great to meet so many cool local riders everywhere. Cheers to Ali, Mike, James, Marco, Sal and Lewis for sorting us out at all the parks. Camp Rubicon #ukskateparks #uktour #skateandexplore

Day 2. Upgraded the tour vehicle 😉 Demo and teaching in Eye Town. Then The Park Warehouse Ltd and Charge Unit. Big shout out to all the kids who joined us for skate lessons in the glorious sun – some great little rippers and an awesome girls crew – and cheers to Gavin, Debbie, Charlie Ash and Ashley Finlay for the park intros. 383 miles and counting. Day 3 (983 miles)… Amazing visits to Prevail Skatehouse, The Front Weymouth SKatepark, Prime Skatepark and Mount Hawke Skatepark!!! Met so many cool people and had shouts out on Air Radio, Wessex Radio and had photographer from Plymouth Herald come join us! Thanks to Isaac Skates, Kevin Mills, Stuart Felstead, Tom Frankham, Sarah and Ciaran for the help. More sun and blue skies today and 5 more parks lined up Camp Rubicon

Day 4 (1218 miles) – 7 park bonanza!! Loads of fun at Campus Skatepark, Motion Ramp Park, Spit and Sawdust, Rampworld Cardiff, Exist Skatepark, Ramps Skatepark and Fear and Rolling Freesports – Skate Park & Skate Shop!! Met so many cool people – shout outs to Christian Hart, Andre Seidel, Clare Jones, Chris O’Reilly and many more! It’s goodbye to Wales and the South today though, we’re on the road heading North… #biggestskateparktoureverdone Camp Rubicon

Day 5 (1440 miles) – awesome to visit Rush Skatepark for the first time, as well as The Boneyard Skatepark, Creation Skate Park Birmingham, Rampz Skate Park Cannock, Just Ramps and Evolution Extreme – Esblygiad Eithafol!! All topped off with poolside cider at hotel!! Great to meet Ian, Michelle, Sue, Vicky and everyone else… Camp Rubicon #tourlife #roadtripfun

Day 6 (1624 miles) – a glorious 8 park special!! Meeting some of the coolest and nicest people – thanks to everyone at Rampworx Skatepark, RAMP 1 Skatepark, Bones Skatepark, Beast Rampz, Projekts MCR Skatepark (The Pump Cage), Central skatepark and The Black Sheep Store, ARC Skatepark and Ramp City Blackpool!! Day 7 (1826 miles) – things got a bit wild with another 7 park session and a chance encounter with a friendly giraffe!! Big thanks to The works skatepark :), The Warehouse, Mags On Ramps, Xscape Yorkshire (Subvert), Northbridge skatepark, Upton Skate Park and The House Skatepark!! Day 8 – “It’s not the destination, it’s the adventure along the way” (Jake Blauvelt) Totally true… 8 days… 2251.6 miles… 44 indoor skateparks… met so many cool local riders, little rippers, seasoned shredders, park owners, shop crews, distributor folk, you name it… awesome vibe in all corners of the country… yesterday finished with (another) 7 park sesh X-Site Skatepark, Adrenaline Alley (CORBY), Joyz of Grind Indoor Skatepark, Flo Skateparks, The Asylum Skatepark, The Board room skatepark, Terminal 1 BMX/Skate Park … that’s the end of the Camp Rubicon tour (for now)… #nbd #skateparktour #ukrecord … Massive thanks to everyone!
