Kendal Jam with Skate, BMX and Scooter

On 30th March, Rubicon sent skate, bmx and scooter riders to the Kendal Jam in Cumbria. Not only were the guys there to share their skills but they also helped run competitions for local riders in the park. It was an amazing day and it was great to see so many young rippers out there enjoying their sports and having some friendly contests. There was also some great music being delivered by local bands and other activities such as graffiti art going on.

It was the perfect way to officially launch Kendal’s newest skate park and something that the young people themselves have put a lot of effort into, in order to secure the original £60,000 in funding. Kathleen Newson, chief executive of Young Cumbria, said: “Young people in Kendal have been asking for a good skatepark for them to use for a long long time and we are overjoyed for them that it is finally here. Young people have campaigned long and hard for this facility and this is a fantastic result for their efforts. I’m sure Saturday will be a day to remember.”

Here are a couple of photos from the day – a quick product toss to the local kids – and a landscape shot of the park.
